Team History

Team Refugees was formed in 2005 as a continuation of the immense passion shared by the founding members of the team, largely from the same cohort of graduates from CCHSM 2000. They were joined by fellow soccer enthusiasts honing their silky skills on the basketball courts at their alma mater, friends and families alike, before finally gaining a common voice under Team Refugees. The team has since grown in numbers and strength with the transfer policy of recruiting friends and families of the initial members, an affiliation shared throughout the entire team.

That said, several members has since come and gone, while others have been on temporary relief due to overseas commitments like work and studies.

The family-like philosophy running through the veins of the team has transformed Team Refugees into a cohesive unit capable of meeting any challenges both on and off the field. In its pursuit of excellence, Team Refugees have joined the D2D league in July 2009 to boost their presence in the amateur league scene, as well as to test their skills among competitive adversaries.

Team Refugees will continue to look forward to impending challenges, as well as to cultivate the team's longevity generation after generation with the recruitment of exciting young prospects.

We stand together, again.

Thank you Team Refugees for serving up a great second half performance.

It was an exciting game with Bubu and Guan giving Team 2 the lead twice, while a brace by MOM Tatnei pulled us back level on both occasions, showing exactly why we voted him as MVP Of The Year. Then a moment of brilliance by die-die-want-to-win-next-year's-MVP Eddie got us the third goal with a superb cross by Ryan, before the former setup Zhonghua at the near post to kill the game towards the end of the game.

Well played, Team Refugees.

We are back as one, and it has been a wonderful curtain call to the year, with the year-end trip and the inter-refugees posting a great finish to year 2009.

Lets look forward to a better 2010!

Cheers Refugees!

P.S.: Thank you to Baikai for arranging this match for the team. Thank you to Weiwen and Joash for participating in our annual Inter Refugees Match. Thank you to the WAGs for waking up so early on a bright Saturday to watch your boys play.

Post Video Comments

Hey guys,

I've uploaded most of the videos online. I missed out some of the videos due to its content or language(mainly from the award-winning Mr Joker), but these uploaded ones should be enough to recap most of the laughter and entertainment we shared on the trip. For those who were not there with us, you can have a share of what we had during the trip - immense fun.

If you really want to have those videos that are not uploaded, predominantly the one where Eddie proclaims his hatred for Team 1's selection and his desire to jump ship to Team 2, you can pm me on msn and i'll send it to you.

Cheers guys.

I'll also like to take this opportunity to once again thank both the organisers, Ruiyang and Tatnei, for this wonderful trip. All the pre-trip work of getting the ferry tickets, the booking of the villa, the award ceremony and all the Maggis, to the trip works of getting beer from the ferry terminal and Tatnei lugging the logistics in his huge-ass luggage, it is all worth a pat on the back for the organisers.

So thank you both, once again.

And to the Refugees who were there sharing the joy and laughs at the trip, give yourselves a pat on the back for a trip well done.

We now look forward to the overseas members to make their way back into the team for a more complete look, and also this Saturday for the clash between ourselves.

Cheers Team Refugees!

Toast by Refugees on a successful team trip and its bright future!

Cheers to Refugees @ Bintan 2009!
